A Male Patient Examined By Female Doctor, Is Attendant Needed

As we all know, while a female patient is to be examined by a male doctor, a female attendant is needed. Is the reverse true?

While a female doctor has to examine private part of a male patient,  is it mandatory to keep a male attendant nearby? Both legally and ethically.
