Case presentation A 48-year-old woman visited the hospital with poor nutrition and electrolyte derangement. She had a history of anorexia nervosa diagnosed at the age of 12, and no evidence of abuse of laxatives, alcohol, or diuretics.
Prior to the present visit, she was bedridden for 3 months. She weighed 53 kg, with a BMI of 17.9 kg/m2. During the visit, she was unable to stand without support.
