Case Presentation  A 79-year-old woman with a history of invasive adenocarcinoma of the gastric antrum, arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and a permanent pacemaker placed in 2021 for second-degree atrioventricular block presented for evaluation. Relevant Recent Medical History Underwent partial gastrectomy Experienced a prolonged 76-day hospitalization following surgery.

Hospital course was complicated by: Acute kidney injury (KDIGO 2) Nosocomial pneumonia Hypernatremia Candida albicans fungemia, likely secondary to a central venous catheter Treated with fluconazole for 15 days with noted clinical improvement Was discharged after recovery from these complications Presenting Symptoms Approximately two months after discharge Reported a seven-day history of: High-grade fever (>39.5°C) Myalgia Generalized malaise No symptoms suggestive of alternative infection…
