ย  Despite significant advances in the management of bacterial infections, including the development of multivalent pneumococcal vaccines, 1 bacterial meningitis continues to be a cause of significant morbidity and mortality among the pediatric population, especially in developing countries. Due to the relatively fast progression rate of the disease, it is therefore important to develop an effective scoring system that can accurately identify major risk factors associated with mortality and high-risk patients at the time of admission. A team of researchers from Paraguay recently developed one such scoring system.

Take a look at the carousel to learn about the interesting findings. Do you think this scoring system can help improve the management of severe cases of bacterial meningitis? ##References:## Chen, A., Mann, B., Gao, G., Heath, R., King, J., Maissoneuve, J., Alderson, M.,โ€ฆ
