Highlights : The FIDELIO-DKD trial evaluated the effect of finerenone on cardiovascular and kidney outcomes in patients with and without a history of CVD. Finerenone, a non-steroidal selective mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist, was well tolerated by patients in the FIDELIO-DKD trial and reduced the risk of cardiovascular and kidney failure outcomes. Finerenone can be a potential treatment option to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in patients at risk of developing cardiovascular events.
