Gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy is a widely performed procedure for the diagnosis and treatment in the patients with gastrointestinal diseases. Disinfection of the endoscope is an essential prerequisite for patient safety. Since the accessories for GI endoscopy are temperature sensitive, low-temperature chemical methods like liquid chemical germicide must be used rather than steam sterilisation.
