Before proceeding with any type of intraocular surgery be it IOL any glaucoma surgery and vitro-retinal one has to proceed with following proceedings: Local Focal General In local , we have to exclude conjunctivitis, chronic dacryocystitis, blepharitis. In focal , exclude any focus of infection in teeth tonsil and gums that is the oral cavity. In general , diabetic and hypertensive patients have to be stabilised then blood for CBCFBS Hb a1c, HIV, lipid profile KFT, LFT.
Also, exclude any skin infection and dermatological condition especially psoriasis. When all the parameters like local, focal, general and hematological investigations are normal then only one should go for any intra-ocular surgery. Share your opinion.
