We know that vaccine not only halts the infections but also prevents the chronic condition associated with the infection. In this regard, Finnish and Swedish researchers have identified a vaccine that can prevent Type 1 diabetes. Research has already identified that there is a link between CB1 infection in children and onset of Type 1 diabetes. Based on this they conducted studies in Mice.
The study revealed that the potential vaccination against CB1 infection in mice prevented the onset of Type 1 diabetes. Although realization of this concept is still years away, this new direction opens some avenues towards type 1 diabetes prevention.
