Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the most mortal malignancies with poor survival rates, where desmoplasia (abundant fibrotic stroma) is a distinctive feature in humans. Cancer–stroma interactions effect angiogenesis, tumorigenesis, treatment resistance and also the metastatic spread of the tumor cells.

Thus, aiming the tumor stroma, along with chemotherapy, is a promising option for the management of PDAC.
