Osteoporosis being a progressive skeletal disease deteriorates the bone tissue system and causes porosity in the bones making them fragile and more prone to break. The continuous bone loss hampers the bone remodeling process and hence presents osteoporosis in mainly old age or postmenopausal women. The treatment and management strategies of the disease have a diverse horizon of pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. This article enlists various pharmacological approaches and discusses the non-pharmacological approach to manage osteoporosis.
