In response to the tragic murder of a Kolkata resident doctor and subsequent protest by doctors, the administration of AIIMS New Delhi has planned for a comprehensive internal security audit and the establishment of two committees to address safety concerns and other issues raised by its doctors. As a part of the initial steps, AIIMS plans to install CCTV cameras at the necessary entry and exit points of the Mother and Child Block. These cameras use AI-based facial recognition technology to recognize visitors.
The administration emphasized that a 15-member committee has been established, and they also decided to conduct a collaborative internal security audit regarding the safety and security of HCPs, staff, patients, and visitors.
