The Faculty Association of AIIMS (FAAIIMS) has condemned the institute's decision to terminate a senior faculty member in Department of Medicine for allegedly misbehaving and manhandling a patient and sought for an unbiased inquiry for the same. An assistant professor from the Department of Medicine was sacked citing “bad attitude and multiple complaints from the department members” on January 10. He  received a termination letter this week after a teachers' panel recommended action over his allegedly persistent bad behavior with resident doctors, staff and patients.

The doctor, who had taken leave from the University College of Medical Sciences to join AIIMS in 2014 as a faculty on probation, mentioned that the termination of his services was a consequence of his “personal differences with the head of the department”.
