According to AIIMS, the awareness about lupus is miserable among the public, policymakers and even physicians, in India. Therefore, the nation’s premier institute have sought an inclusion of lupus in the Health Ministry's list of NCDs. In this regard, Head of Rheumatology Department at AIIMS commented “Our NCD list is very old and needs a review.
