There has been news about the use of air ambulance to carry patients in and out of country. In foreign countries like USA, air ambulance is used for faster transfer of critical patients to the closest available hospital. This reduces the time it takes for the patient to reach hospital, which in many cases is critical for treatment of the patient. The problem of implementing the same system in India is the high cost of hiring an air ambulance, which might not be possible for the general population of our country.
With an increase in the number of road accidents, is it a good idea to start air ambulance system? Will it be helpful in treatment of general population or will it be limited to the elite?
