After skin cancer, breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer in women (1). Breast cancer is the major cause of morbidity and mortality in the female population. Late presentation of disease is caused mostly due to illiteracy, lack of awareness and regional financial constraints, which in turn increase the mortality rate. It is important to prioritize healthcare services by improving diagnostic and treatment facilities (2).
Principles of therapy Breast cancer has 3 subtypes which have definite risk profiles and therapeutic approaches.
