Anti-HCV reactive, but HCV RNA PCR and Virus is non-detectable; What to do next? Hi everyone, this is about a patient who is on maintenance hemodialysis for ESRD for last 1 year. 15 days back his HCV card test came positive and this was followed by the reactive Anti-HCV ELISA test. But his HCV RNA real-time PCR was not showing any viral load (cutoff value 34).
His USG abdomen was normal for liver but SGOT/SGPT were 2 to 3 times elevated. Now, literature says this may be due to some remote HCV infection with antibody immunity or due to very low-level HCV viral infection. From here onwards I need your opinion and further appropriate work up?
