Yesterday, I was reading the newspaper, came across three articles which talked about the health care delivery system. As is the norm these days, they showed the doctors and/or hospitals in a poor light. I could not stop myself from posting the news articles on this forum. The first, on the front page, was regarding the unfortunate death of a young man allegedly due to medical negligence in a well-known hospital. The events led up to vandalism by the attendants of the patient, this despite the fact that, according to the article, the doctor on duty did his best to save the patient.
The second article, found on page 9, carried the headlines “Admitted newborn baby attacked by ants, dies”. In this case, as well, the doctors did all they could to save the newborn and referred it to the eminent Medical College for better care. This incident also took place in the same hospital.
