I had this discussion many times with some of my friends and i thought I should share my views. Doctors specially the freshers and resident doctors are paid very less as compared to other profession. Additionally following facts make it more difficult for us - Doctors start earning vey late - The gestation period of medical profession is very very long.
If you opt for specialization after MBBS, you are on an average 30+ yrs of age Expensive profession - The study itself is very very expensive now. Sometimes doctors use eductional loans to pay their tuition fees and if you include the cost of setting up your private OPD/private clinic, it all amounts to something which takes years to have a positive Returns on investment. Lesser financial knowledge - Unlinke other profession, the medical curriculam does not teach you anything about finance and soft skills to manage your investment…
