A 74-year-old woman is admitted from a residential care home with pain in the left iliac fossa. There is no bowel disturbance. History: She has a history of gastro-oesophageal reflux and is taking Lansoprazole daily. She has mild dementia and has lived in the residential home for the last two years. As she has pain in left iliac fossa, diagnosis of diverticulitis was made and she was treated with Cefuroxime intravenously. She made a good recovery but on the fifth day of her admission, she has an episode of diarrhea. The next day she has 4 episodes of watery diarrhea and complains of crampy abdominal pain.
