Synopsis Influenza infection is found to be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular (CV) events. But few studies have reported the temporal association between influenza activity and hospitalizations because of Heart Failure (HF) and Myocardial Infraction (MI). Thus, the present study aims to explore the temporal association between influenza activity and hospitalization due to HF and MI. This week’s “ MED FACT ” discusses a clinical trial from JAMA Cardiology , “Association of Influenza-like Illness Activity with Hospitalizations for Heart Failure, The Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities Study”.
