According to a recent study, the collateral use of Atezolizumab with bevacizumab plus chemotherapy improves survival in patients with non-squamous metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Atezolizumab is a PD-L1 blocking antibody which has proved to be beneficial in lung cancer. This immunotherapy has demonstrated efficacy and safety when added to platinum doublet chemotherapy in patients suffering non-small cell lung cancer.
The concomitant use of these two drugs plus chemotherapy as a first line treatment for metastatic lung cancer improved survival rates.
