On 3rd August 2023, the National Medical Commission released a set of guidelines for registered medical practitioners (RMPs) in India for standard care practices and code of conduct. Continuing professional development (CPD) is defined as “the wide-ranging competencies beyond clinical update, research and scientific writing, multidisciplinary context of patient care, ethical practice, communication, management and behavioural skills, team building, information technology, audit, and appropriate attitudinal change to ensure improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.” CPD is important for clinicians to make informed choices for patient care.
