While the Ayushman Bharat dominated the news last year, documents show that the Ayushman Bharat health scheme has swelled in Modi government’s 2019 Budget. From an allocation of   ₹ 2,000 crore last year, this year the government has put aside ₹6,400 crore for this program. The government said that during the first six months they saw an uptake of up to ₹924 crore and ₹537 crore of claims amounts have been approved. It is observed that in spite of many states opposing and rejecting this program, a major boost to this health insurance scheme is observed.

Few states, West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Delhi have not yet agreed to participate and the Centre will not have to send them any funds.
