Bacterial Infections have to be treated in time by administering life-saving antibiotics. However, many times these antibiotics adversely affect the hearing ability of the individuals. I found one study that talks about the increase in risk of hearing loss associated with administration of these antibiotics and the improvements that can be made to minimize this problem. Researchers from Oregon Health & Science University have found that people who have a dangerous bacterial infection are at a higher risk of hearing loss due to the use of life-saving antibiotics.
