Doctors at one of Bengaluru’s leading hospitals have successfully performed a rare and highly complex vascular surgery on a 15-year-old girl suffering from a rupturing abdominal aortic aneurysm caused by the rare autoimmune disorder Behçet’s Disease. The life-saving procedure, carried out by a multidisciplinary team, prevented a potentially fatal rupture and restored normal blood flow, marking a significant achievement in the management of complex vascular complications in children. The teenager had been living with Behçet’s Disease since 2018, a rare condition in which the immune system attacks the body's blood vessels.
