A real story of a Doctor from East Delhi as narrated to me by my elder brother which has created an impact on my Psyche and I would like to share it with members of this Forum. One of our senior colleagues from Allopathic system of medicine was practicing in outskirts of East Delhi. He was extremely polite, empathetic and a popular doctor. Anybody could come to him for advice or primary treatment at even odd hours of the day and night. He took it as a matter of pride to be available whenever any sick or disturbed person approached him.
He was a Messiah for those people who could hardly afford two meals in a day. Laborers, daily wagers and people working in trucking business were his usual customers. He used to charge nominal fees and whenever he felt that patients are too poor even to afford his nominal fee, he declined to accept. Time kept on moving. His children grew up and later went…
