The article gives an overview of the study to determine a brain to liver ratio as a threshold for fetal growth restriction, which can be used as a useful diagnostic tool in future. Fetal Growth Restriction (FGR) FGR is determined by comparing it with estimated fetal weight to population-based standards. FGR is defined as a birth weight for gestational age (WGA) below the 10th percentile. Causes of fetal growth restriction include many diversified factors such as chronic maternal diseases, congenital and genetic disorders, infections and environmental conditions etc. It is necessary to determine FGR in a perinatal death for the management of subsequent pregnancies.
