A 20 years old boy with diagnosed fatty liver grade3 with baseline of hepatic enzymes sgot 67, sgpt166, GGT 93, LDH 194 was prescribed Tab.urodeoxycholic acid300 mg, Tab silymarine140,Cap Vitamin E 400 mg BD.Tab. N- acetylcysteine600 mg OD. After 2 weeks of treatment hepatic enzymes observed were:- Sgot 82, sgpt 174, LDH 244. My query: What could be the cause of hepatic enzymes derangement?
With this treatment pt.reduced body weight by 4 kgs.and revealed. H/o sulfa sensitivity . Is offending agent N - acetylcysteine or not? Please share.
