Carbuncles are cluster of boils which are red, swollen, and painful that are connected to each other under the skin. They are often filled with pus, grow large in size and eventually rupture and drain. In rare but severe cases, it also causes fever and chills.

Abscess is a also painful collection of pus which is usually caused by a bacterial infection. Treatment includes draining of boils and antibiotics, commonly seen in India.
