Case presentation: An 85-year-old man with a history of inflammatory bowel disease who required corticosteroids and bowel resection was referred to orthopedics after experiencing left hip pain due to a fall. In addition, the patient had lately developed iron deficiency anemia, mild heart failure, starvation, weakness, and weight loss.
