A 39 year old female who is daughter of my patients in law, she had a prominent eyes since 6 months. She was came to me for her father diabetes, when I suggested to done her thyroid function in view of her eye problem. She had visited the ophthalmologist for the same who suggested some eye drops after ruling out any major issues. She had been complaining of redness in her eyes. The problem did not subside inspite of the eye drops which probably were a high potency steroid. At the time of checking her thyroid function, her TSH was less than 0.01, FT3 & FT4 were within the normal ranges.

Clinically, she was Euthyroid, pulse are normal, no goitre, no significant findings on clinical examination except brisk tendon reflexes. I advised her to get thyroid antibodies,  sonography & thyroid scan done. Her antibodies were high esp. Anti TPO. Which was more than 600, Anti Tg was high approx 8.6(…
