Chatbots are tools enabled by artificial intelligence (AI), automated algorithms, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning (ML) to process data to deliver fast responses to queries of all kinds.[1] AI works on the concept of machines that can learn and interact like the human brain.[2,3] These tools in recent years have developed the capability to bring out narratives in coherent language and flow making it difficult to make out they are scripted by machines.[4] The recent release of AI chatbot ChatGPT in the public domain accelerated the potential of these tools, known as large language models (LLM). Some researchers are using LLM in place of research assistants to organize their thinking, get feedback on their work, and generate a quick literature review.[5] These emerging technologies are having an influence on scholarly writings.
