Dog bites are mostly associated with rabies which is a fatal and deadly disease. Counselling and awareness about the disease and proper management of patients are of utmost importance to avoid the incidence of rabies. Rabies can be prevented but hard to cure upon onset. This article discusses some in-pocket points for the prophylaxis of rabies.

Introduction A dog bite is usually linked with rabies, which is the most important zoonotic viral disease, causing viral encephalitis in India and other Asian countries.
