Bhubaneswar, Oct. 14 : An orthopaedic surgeon, his caretaker and the latter’s teenager son were murdered at the doctor’s house near Khandagiri hills early this morning. The 56-year-old surgeon, Atulya C. Meher, who worked with a private hospital in the city, his caretaker Prasant Behera, 40, and the latter’s son, Minu, 14, were stabbed to death with a knife. Their bodies bore multiple injury marks.
Prasant’s wife Runu also suffered severe injuries after being stabbed while trying to resist the accused, Sneha Swakhyar Samal, 40, who was overpowered by local residents when he tried to flee. Samal, who was handed over to the police, also suffered injuries in the neck during a scuffle with Runu and her son. He has been admitted to a private hospital nearly where Runu is also being treated. The accused, who started out as a medical representative, owns a medicine shop at Sri Vihar in Patia.…
