An 11-year-old girl was referred to us with the following complaints: Main complaints were  C/O Head ache vomiting for 4 days Fever for 2 days  Generalized seizures while on transport to the hospital  She had a tour from school for four days. They gave a history of bathing in the pond during the tour. No prior history of ear discharge , contact with tuberculosis . No history of trauma.

O/E  Breathing was shallow Pulse 58/mt Blood pressure above 95th centile EMV score 8 Papilledema present Eye ball movements full, Pupils reacting, both equal size Neck stiffness plus Plantar upgoing and deep tendon reflexes were brisk on both sides  Temperature 100 degrees F A provisional diagnosis of encephalitis syndrome made. LP was postponed, Primary amoebic meningitis, Cerebral malaria also was considered as possibilities. She was put on Injection ceftriaxone, Inj acyclovir anti odema measures and…
