chILD is a group of genetic, innate, inflammatory, and infectious diseases that affects the lung interstitium of children. 1 Each disease of chILD is rare and affects less than one in 100,000 individuals. Guidelines based on a multidisciplinary approach for classification, clinical characteristics, and diagnosis of ILD in adults are well-established. 2,3 However, clinical manifestations and frequency of ILD are different in children. This article summarizes the genetic, histological, and clinical characteristics of chILD to help physicians diagnose the disease.
