1. Government Approves Only 1,800 Registered Medical Practitioners Under NMR According to the NMC’s meeting minutes from January, only 1,800 Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) who applied for inclusion in the government’s National Medical Register (NMR) have received certificates over the past two years. The issue came into focus after a Member of Parliament raised concerns about the slow rollout of the NMR in Parliament. At present, nearly 30,000 RMP applications remain pending verification by the State Medical Councils and the NMC.
