Every day, up to 500 children die from TB in India. Presently, 2 million children are infected with Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR TB). In such scenario, the Drugs Controller General of India has given approval for clinical trials related to MDR TB and Tuberculosis Meningitis of antibiotics on children under one year of age.
