Synopsis A recent clinical study demonstrates the use of a fully automated, closed-loop insulin delivery system which results in better glycemic control than standard insulin therapy. The present study aims to evaluate that closed-loop insulin delivery would be safe and improve glycemic control without increasing the risk of hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetes patients. This week’s “MED FACT” discusses a clinical trial from The New England Journal of Medicine, “ Closed-Loop Insulin Delivery for Glycemic Control in Noncritical Care”. July 25, 2018.
