MCI has banned accepting gifts and other freebies from Pharma companies. But doctors found a new way to cheat and extract money from our own doctors that is credit points in the name of seminars and conferences. Lakhs of rupees are collected for registrations and from Pharma companies in the name of sponsorship. Big question arises who can conduct CME.
Who gives the authority to award credit points. If 3-4 CMEs are conducted per year by few people in the name of scientific conferences they can earn crores of rupees. No need of practice. Kindly share your views.
