A 48-year-old obese female, developed DM in January 19. A specialist, (B S RANDOM 375, FASTING 207,PP263, NO HYPOTHYROIDISM,) prescribed canaglizofloxazin ,sitagliptin for 4 months. In next 4 months she was prescribed only canaglizoflozin , (Blood sugar 106.....112 and HBA1C was in the range of 6...5.6 maintained), but she wasn't feeling well c/o pain at neck, severe dysmenorrhea with bleeding p/v, so after repeated investigations. According to me she is a case of Insulin resistance. Another manifestation turn out inform of severe dysmenorrhea at this age.
She was not prescribed any drug to treat insulin resistance ,only blood sugar levels brought to normal forcibly by SGLT-2 inhibitors. Lipid profile is also result of lack of insulin action in body. I am wondering is it really a way to treat DM? She is worried for LDL LEVEL as someone frightened her. Kindly help with the diagnosis.
