Community Acceptance Of Cryotherapy In Cervical Cancer Screening Program I was the Principal Investigator of a large scale Cervical cancer screening program in Tamil Nadu, during 2000-2007. We screened more than 35000 women successfully due to our education and empowerment inputs. The cryotherapy did for patients diagnosed with CIN lesions resulted in short time complications, like discharge PV. But the women were explained that the treatment involved freezing of tissues and it's like "ice formation" inside which will melt for few days and that is what they experience as watery discharge.
The women understood and cooperated well. Thus education, empowerment assures compliance. Do you think, empowering patients helps to make better clinical decisions?
