A nurse working in CCU diagnosed to have sputum positive pulmonary tuberculosis. She started ATD Cat l from govt set up (thrice weekly dose). After starting the drugs she felt symptomatically better but after 1 and half month later she started to have high rise fever with nausea and vomiting but she continued the treatment but after completion of intensive phase she remained sputum positive. She consulted a local doctor who told her to take fixed dose combination from market( from pharmacy shop) on daily basis. After taking the drugs she had the same problem. Now she has been admitted under me with high fever and vomiting.
Her liver enzymes are on 2 fold rise. Her chest xray showing enlareged area of consolidation than her previous Xray. On usg hepatospleenomegaly and pus cell in urine. She is now on antibiotics and continuing ATD. How should I continue ATD? The day from when she was on…
