Haematopoietic Stem cell transplantation have come of age. More than 30,000 cord blood transplants have been carried out globally. Cord blood banking is done in private/ family cord blood banks where the parents have to pay for life long storage.
Public cord blood banks are being set up to provide this life saving therapy to the needy patients. Cord blood banks have to be licencesed by DCGI and state FDA before commencing operations. How can we increase the awareness of the public for this life saving cellular therapy?
