Allahabad high court has directed the principal secretaries of home, medical and health services departments and director general, medical and health services to ensure that doctors submit computerized medicolegal reports along with original handwritten ones. According to the judgement, the decision is imposed after many doctors were summoned for badly handwritten medicolegal reports. Further, the judgement stated that the report should be duly signed by the respective doctor or by the authorized signatory as a true copy of the original.
The signed document will form part of the police report at the time of conclusion of the investigation.
