The Union Health Ministry has issued a statement revealing the current scenario of COVID-19 patients in the country along with the death toll the disease has caused. The statement has also given age-wise and state-wise distribution of the corona positive cases in the country. According to the health ministry reports, 42% of the positive cases are between 21 to 40 years of age , while 33% of cases are between 41 and 60 years of age. 17% of patients are above 60 years of age and 9% of the cases reported are between 0-20 years of age.
The ministry has noted that most of the deaths are being reported in elderly patients or those having co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, kidney/cardiac issues, etc .
