During 2020, the world waited patiently enduring restrictive measures with bated breaths behind masks covering their face and nose with an optimism that the vaccine against the pandemic of Covid-19 was round the corner. The hope was that “acche din” (good days) will be back soon after the rollout of the vaccines. The vaccines, developed at warp speed were granted emergency use authorization by end of 2020.

Most countries started rolling out mass vaccination in the first half of 2021, an unprecedented phenomenon in public health history. Never before, the country's population had been administered vaccines during an active pandemic on such a large scale.
