Fungal infections on the skin are highly prevalent, with approximately 20-25% of the world’s population suffering from them. Moreover, dermatophyte infections affect people of all ages and genders worldwide. Tinea capitis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea manuum, and tinea barbae are among these infections. Physical examination, supported by the use of a Wood's lamp, skin scrapings for microscopic examination, and fungal cultures, can be used to diagnose most of these infections.
