A team of doctors in Dubai has successfully excised a scalp tumor , comparable in size to a watermelon, from a five-year-old girl. Measuring approximately 20 cm by 10 cm, the growth is regarded as one of the largest scalp tumors reported in recent medical records. The child was diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis complex, a rare genetic disorder characterized by the development of non-cancerous skin lesions and frequent seizures . Her parents first detected a small lump on the back of her head when she was just one year old, which was accompanied by intense seizure episodes.
Over time, the mass progressively enlarged, became ulcerated, and resulted in significant hair loss and emotional distress due to social withdrawal.
