Ocular discomfort and pain are common symptoms of DED, and they can have a detrimental impact on both physical and mental health.2 Additionally, poor visual performance might limit the ability to read, drive, and use electronic devices.2 DED can negatively affect both an individual's QOL and their ability to be productive at work.2 The tendency to experience unpleasant emotions such as rage, anxiety, self-consciousness, irritability, emotional instability, and depression is known as neuroticism.3 Studies have shown the connection between anxiety/depression and patients' quality of life (QoL) with DED.2
